On the day England play their first RWC game in Japan Paviors again break new ground with their first ever 'Club Open Day'. It starts at 10.00pm and everyone from Under 16's down is invited.
Throughout thie last few weeks much effort has gone in to planning the event with Clare Raine our new Mini Chair to the fore with great support from Mark Bailey. Mark was recently appointed Director of Mini Rugby, a new role at the Club aimed at supporting players and coaches. He and Clare will be coming amongst you to listen to your ideas.
This is just one initiative and along with the appointment of Sue Laplanche as our Schools Liaison Officer there will be more inter action with schools. We are hosting a Schools Tournament in October and Mark is also arranging for our coaches to go into local schools to help the rugby development of girls and boys of all ages. If you can help Mark with this he would love to hear from you.
Iain Wigglesworth has also been appointed Director of Junior Rugby and this is another example of how we want to assist improvement of standards of both coaching and playing.
They will both work in tandem with our Director of Rugby Pat Billam and Club Coach Coordinator Dave Robinson to ensure quality players come through to Senior Rugby at Paviors and beyond.
So back to Sunday’s Open Day when we are expecting a good crowd to turn up and have a real taster of how Paviors deliver rugby at The Ron Rossin Ground. It starts at 10.00am and we also have an Under 15 game against Ilkeston plus all the Minis and Little Ruggers training. Very busy but Clare our, effervescent, Mini Chair has planned the morning in forensic detail to finish in time for everyone to have a bite to eat and watch England’s RWC opening game against Tonga.
So spread the word, come and join us, support your Club and get behind England.
