PAVIORS PITCHED UP AND PLAYED - we participated, we performed and we enjoyed.

On Saturday the sun shone on Burntstump and our Members turned up in droves to bask under it.

The response to this great RFU initiative, supported by Britvic was fantastic and we had an afternoon of rugby indicative of what Paviors is all about. Mixed teams saw First Teamers playing alongside our Juniors, Girls and Boys, along with Parents, Guests and Coaches some of whom had never played before. We are competitive so there had to be a winner but the biggest winner was the Club on a day when our ‘Family Club’ values were reinforced. Just look at the pictures in the gallery to see what a great time was had.

As ever these things don’t happen without a good deal of effort so a big thank you to everyone who had the Club up and running, to our three referees, the team captains, to Pat Billam who cut short is holiday to organise the teams and match schedule and the help he was given by Josh Peck.

Few clubs of our status, if any, have the involvement of First Team Players across their club and as with the Nat West the week before they were out in force supporting the day. The majority of the lads started in our Minis and learnt there the value of loyalty and set a great example to our current youngsters.

We have had so many requests to do it again we are going to replicate the day on Saturday 26th September in exactly the same format.  So if you missed the last one a chance for you to enjoy the fun, rumour has it Club Coach Nathan Eggelshaw will be out there.
